Philosophy
Herring & Trowbridge Architects is founded on a few well-founded principals. They define our architecture.
Service:
We listen. We make it our business to know your business, your schedule, your budget, your market, and most importantly, your needs.
We respond in a direct way. As a small firm, responding to your needs quickly and correctly is a major part of our daily activity. We will spoil you.
Quality:
To us "quality" means creative, cost efficient technically proficient architecture.
We routinely visit the site, consult with users, and listen to our clients' needs and desires. This input shapes our architecture in a uniquely personal way. "Standard" solutions are not creative solutions.
We are accustomed to working closely with contractors and craftsmen to achieve the best possible result for the least cost.
We have a combined total of over 200 years of architectural experience in a variety of building types. We know how to do the job correctly.
Value:
We are a small, highly qualified firm of professional architects-no flash, no glitz. This solid profile contributes to our very aggressive fees. Our very low overhead consists of substance without fluff. If it doesn't contribute to our architecture, we don't have it.
For Herring & Trowbridge Architects, this philosophy is not a platitude; we try to live it. Our clients will concur. We want to be your architects, but only if we can do it correctly and creatively.
Organization
Herring & Trowbridge Architects was founded in 1991 by David Herring and David Trowbridge. Today Herring & Trowbridge Architects is doing work nationwide.
Staff:
Recognizing that our senior staff plays a critical role in the production of successful projects, the partners have sought out professionals they have personally worked with in the past. This core group of senior Architects has a proven track record of working well together and producing the quality results the firm demands. Not only are the senior Architects managing their projects in the office and in the field, they are on the computer, designing and drawing them - a full scale hands-on approach that keeps them intimate with their job as well as the client. A consistent client / architect relationship is formed by keeping key personnel on the project from start to finish, and this relationship is a key factor in maintaining smooth transitions between each phase of a project.
Facilities:
Our office environments are equipped with the latest computer systems and software. Our offices are electronically linked to allow each office to function as a single entity or to combine forces seamlessly as a project requires. We continually investigate cutting edge hardware, software and other peripherals to produce the highest quality documentation for our clients.
Work Ethic:
Our work ethic is simple. We do what it takes to satisfy the client. If that means working through the night on a last minute client request, then that is what we do - draftsmen, Architects and Principals alike. Our doors are open from early morning well into the evening. For us, architecture is our passion.
